Estate Planning & Probate
I am committed to helping people make sound decisions about the disposition of their assets after death. I draft wills and create trusts designed to accomplish my clients’ wishes while preserving assets and minimizing expenses. In addition to the preparation of a Will, the “estate plan” most often includes the preparation of a General Durable Power of Attorney (effective either immediately or upon disability), and a Living Will & Healthcare Directive. I approach these tasks with compassion and sensitivity to the unique family situation of every client.
After the death of a loved one, I am aware that the stress of legal proceedings can be an additional burden. I provide probate services to efficiently settle an estate in accordance with probate laws, while protecting the rights and interests of the executor and the beneficiaries of the estate. If the deceased had no Will, I will proceed expeditiously with administration of the estate.
My experience and familiarity with such matters enables me to quickly gather the deceased person’s assets, pay any debts that are owed, and divide and distribute the assets according to the provisions of the will or applicable New Jersey law if there was no will.
In some cases, we may be able to avoid the probate process, but in many situations, this is not an option. I will explain how the probate laws apply to your situation and, if needed, guide the estate through probate court in a timely and cost-effective manner.
During this time, it is important to me to be a calming presence to you in this process. This means being easy to deal with and using my experience to deliver a successful outcome for you. I have found that my open, down-to-earth approach is appreciated by my clients.
In most cases, we can fix our fees for the work we do. We’ll consider the prospect of additional and unexpected work and give you a fixed cost.

In most cases, there is a fixed legal fee for the work I do which will be detailed in a Retainer Letter provided to you before any work is done on your behalf. Business Law
Representing small to mid-size businesses is especially rewarding to me because my clients and I establish long-term relationships that last for years. I become invested in my client’s success as if it were my own.
My general business practice includes: creating legal business entities, by-laws and operating agreements; preparing customer agreements, employment agreements and other general policies; and provide general commercial law advice and guidance on the many issues that arise in the course of business.
For many clients, I agree to be on a reasonable retainer and available when needed. This eliminates the need for a client to hire an attorney every time a new issue may arise. This arrangement gives my client the peace of mind knowing he has “corporate counsel” in his corner ready when needed.
